Privacy notice
What we collect and why.
What each service asks for, what it is used for, and the law that lets us use it.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and name, and the date of birth, address and mobile number that fill in your forms for you. Your password is stored only in scrambled form; nobody at the barangay can read it.
- Your requests: what each form asks for, such as the purpose of a certificate, or the place and photo of a concern you report.
- Your ID: if you verify your ID or attach one to a request, the ID type, number and expiry date, and photos of the ID. Location data is removed from photos when they are uploaded.
- Photos: a profile photo for your digital Barangay ID, and photos you attach to a report or a pet registration.
- Event registrations, messages and Chat with us conversations: your name and contact details, so we know who is coming or can reply. Messages can be sent without a name.
- Automatically: which pages are visited, the page or site you came from, and searches that found nothing, counted together, with no cookies. This is never linked to you.
Why we use it
- To act on what you asked for: issue a certificate, register you for an event, send a repair team.
- To tell you what happened to it, by email.
- To check that a certificate or ID is genuine when someone scans its QR code.
- To keep the barangay's records, as the law requires.
We never use your information for advertising, and we never use it for anything you did not send it for. We do not send text messages about your requests.
Our legal basis
We process your information because you agree to it when you create an account or send a form, and because the barangay has duties under the law, such as issuing certificates and keeping records. ID numbers are sensitive personal information under the Data Privacy Act, so we ask for them only where a service needs them.
